Date Time Memorial plaque stolen from Leabrook Police are investigating the theft of a bronze plaque from the memorial for a fallen police officer at Leabrook. The plaque had been fixed to a rock in the Constable Hyde Memorial Garden, Tusmore Avenue, Leabrook. The plaque and garden commemorates the murder of Constable William Hyde, 36, who was shot in the head while foiling a robbery at Marryatville on 2 January 1909. His killers were never apprehended.
