El Dorado dug itself out of an early 12-point deficit to take a lead Tuesday night against Hot Springs. The Wildcats couldn’t hold it down the stretch however as the Trojans pulled out a tough 61-58 decision at Wildcat Arena.
Basketball fans at Wildcat Arena got a holiday treat on Thursday in the form of a down-to-the-wire thriller. Magnolia survived a last-second 3-point attempt by El Dorado and stayed unbeaten on the season with a 54-53 win in the varsity boys’ matchup. The Lady Panthers won the varsity girls’ game 59-30.
For the second game in a row, El Dorado outscored its opponent in the fourth quarter. For the second time, it was too little, too late for the Wildcats, who fell to 0-3 in 5A South play Friday after a 63-53 loss to Pine Bluff at Wildcat Arena. El Dorado’s three league losses have come to teams with a combined overall record of 20-6.
