In a letter to the editor on Jan. 2, Glenn McRae of Burlington stated that rural Vermonters owning guns is a “perplexing idea” in the face of suicides and accidental deaths. I only ask because Mr. McRae lives in Burlington, which as we all know is an urban area that has its own police force. A depleted police force to be sure thanks to the city council, but a police force nonetheless.
