Six VEX robotics teams from three School District of Manatee County elementary schools are headed to a regional competition, making history for the district. Millage details Manatee County residents approved a 1-mill property tax increase for the School District of Manatee County in March 2018. The vote was 28,949 in favor (51.38%) and 27,392 (48.62%) opposed. The district expected the additional millage to generate $37 million per year to go toward operational needs.
