Developed by a team of institutes led by IIT Madras, the test bed will allow Indian tech startups to test their facilities and technologies in India itself, reducing the dependency these companies have on foreign companies and their facilities.

The Ministry of Communication also said that all 5G stakeholders can utilise the 5G test bed at a very nominal rate.

All 5G stakeholders i.e. industry, academia, service providers, R&D institutions, govt. bodies, equipment manufacturers etc. can utilise this facility at a very nominal rate, communication ministry said
