App's Formato Named SoCon Wrestler of the Week
App State’s Will Formato has been named both the Southern Conference’s Wrestler of the Week and the league’s Student-Athlete of the Week. Now ranked 14th in the country at 165 pounds by TrackWrestling, Formato posted a 4-0 decision in a dual match against No. 7 Thomas Bullard on Friday, thanks to a takedown and near fall in the first period. The Acworth, Ga., native and redshirt sophomore went 2-0 against two additional NC State wrestlers Saturday, outscoring his three opponents from the No. 4 Wolfpack by a 12-0 score over two days.
