Cyclist killed in crash with shuttle bus at NTU had just bought her bicycle, says husband who's currently in Malaysia

Ms Wong Siew Yuen met a friend for a bike ride around the NTU campus when she got into an accident with a shuttle bus.

Ms Wong Siew Yuen was also bored at home as she had been unable to see her family in Seremban, Malaysia, said her husband, Mr Ye Zicheng, 58.
"She seldom rides a bicycle in Malaysia and she rarely rides a bicycle on the road, so I have always disapproved of her buying a bicycle.
"I should have insisted at that time...(then) the accident would not have happened," said Mr Ye in an interview with Shin Min Daily News on Tuesday.

Cyclist, 49, who died in accident involving NTU shuttle bus, leaves behind husband & son in M'sia

The incident happened at around 8:40pm along Nanyang Crescent, before the junction with Nanyang Drive.
The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedic.
Fell off the bicycle before accident happened
The Straits Times (ST) identified the deceased as Wong Siew Yuen, a factory supervisor.
What happened
The friend, who was described to be overwhelmed with guilt, told
Shin Min Daily News (Shin Min) that he was riding in front of Wong and would occasionally turn back to check on her.
At that time, they were riding down a slope and the terrain was uneven. Wong fell off her bicycle and an oncoming bus failed to avoid her.
