The triumphant smile on community champion Peter Killan’s face says it all... Because he has hit his target and completely cleared the 3/4 mile length of towpath from Wade Lock, Uppermill, to Wool Road car park, Dobcross, as shown on the photo at the finishing point. He said: "The entire path is now free of leaves and mud and makes a good surface for walkers, runners and cyclists to use. "I still hope to be out on the towpath at quiet times before Christmas tidying up and inviting users to donate, socially distanced of course. "Donations so far total over £3,800, and Gift Aid will add a further £550, for Dr Kershaw's Hospice 'Furnish with Love - Give the Gift of Comfort' Appeal.
