Because they need to stay alive. you really want to do something about the environment, you need to raise those folks up out of poverty so they don't have to rely on dirty coals and all these other things. they are saying, "no, we want to kill the middle of the country and eliminate the carbon economy," and they don't realize it's about lifting people in other parts of the world out of poverty first. instead they just say, "we are going to all buy very expensive cars that you plug into the wall, and we are good people for that." and they are so sanctimonious. there is an elitist tinge to that....
