雍正七年（公元1729年）七月，许昌城北的潩水河暴涨，乡间淹没，受灾群众有数百人，他们寝室无所。怀有大爱之心的尚集北街人尚上，立即召集家人，构茅棚数十间，赈粥20多日，没让一个灾民饿死。清乾隆皇帝得知尚上的事迹后，亲自颁旨“义行可封”，钦褒义行崇祀忠义词，拨政府银库修建尚氏《义行可封》石牌坊和祠堂。
潩水河暴涨，尚上救死扶伤显大爱
历史上，许昌好人善行义举的故事非常多。他们乐善好施、见义勇为，一直被后人传颂。这些可触可见的道德光源，点燃了莲城引人向善的精神火炬。
如有市民到市区芙蓉湖游玩，可在湖畔北侧一片松柏的掩映中找到一座古墓。该古墓前竖立着一大两小三座石碑。高大的石碑上刻有“报本追远，昭武来许”8个大字，两侧的对联是：镇黄河安澜千古，� ....
