Fema isn t doing enough to help wildfire victims in share tate. fema helped firefighters battling the june blaze but did not declare the town of yarnell, arizona, a federal disaster area saying the damage to private homes there was within the capabilities of state and local agencies. back in january, mccain, flake, and kosar all voted against the $50 billion sandy relief package. mccain questioned whether some of the aid was going to help those affected and kosar even voted against a bare-bones billion-dollar funding bill, one of just 67 members to do so. we ll be right back. Officials for denying her and other families some benefits her husband andrew was one of the 13 granite mountain hot shots. who were seasonal part-time workers of the city of prescott. they say the families are not eligible for full-time benefits like a pension and health insurance. the families are receiving one-time payments of 330,000 bucks. ashcraft accused city officials including the mayor of being unprofessional, rude and uncompassionate. meanwhile, we re hearing from the only survivor of the yarnell hill fire for the first time. he spoke with brian ross in the abc exclusive. reporter: as the wildfire spread across a rocky hillside in yarnell, arizona, there was no immediate sense of impending danger. according to the first public account of the lone survivor, 21-year-old brendan mcdonough. everything seemed normal. not threatening. just a typical day going direct on a fire. reporter: all 20 members of a team, granite mountain hot shots, specially trained to go into wild ....

Hotshot. remember this was this elite fire fighting unit. he and 18 others were killed in late june. a fire in yarnell, arizona, turned unexpectedly, trapping everyone on the team except for one. juliann says her family deserves the lifetime health insurance and the salary that full-time firefighters received. the city of prescott says andrew was, quote, a seasonal employee therefore not eligible for these payouts. the reason that i m here and speaking out is because my husband already earned it. i shouldn t have to be convincing somebody that him giving his life to save ours was worth some sort of money. again, no amount of compensation will bring him back. none will take away the pain. but i can certainly use the money that would be given as these benefits come in to be sure that i can stay home with our kids and raise them in the way that he and i talked about raising them. we set out a way that i would be able to stay home through his full-time employment to raise ....
