JAMMU, May 18: As there is all possibility of third wave of COVID in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Government has constituted a high-level committee for formulation of Action Plan so that all arrangements are put in place to tackle the pandemic in the effective manner.
However, the experts have already suggested the Government to block the spread of infection as early as possible by vaccinating the population on war footing basis as the same is the only option left to make the third wave mild.
The General Administration Department today constituted a committee with Dr M S Khuroo, Ex-Director SKIMS Soura as Chairman and Dr Shakti Gupta, Executive Director and CEO All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Jammu as its Co-Chairman.

NHM ‘Analysis’ Say Delay In Testing, Hospitalization Proves Fatal In Covid19 Patients

SRINAGAR: National Health Mission (NHM) in Jammu and Kashmir has released an analysis of Covid-19 mortality in Jammu and Kashmir. It is based on the data collected by the public health system between April 15 and May 12, 2021.

During this period, the NHM said 806 Covid19 deaths took place – 31 in Kashmir and 495 in Jammu. It was, however, not immediately known why this particular patch was taken for the analysis.
On basis of how and when the Covid19 patients died, the NHM has made the following observations:

JAMMU Tawi, APRIL 27: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer today reviewed the stock and supply position of essential drugs for the treatment of Covid positive patients, here at a meeting at the Drug Controller Office, Jammu.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg; MD National Health Mission, Yasin Choudhary; UT Drugs Controller J&K, Lotika Khajuria, MD JKMSCL Dr Yashpal Sharma besides Assistant Drugs Controllers, DCOs and other concerned officers.
UT Drugs Controller apprised the Div Com that the Drug Controller General of India has designated Remdesivir as a institutional supply only drug in view of the emerging Covid situation and a quota of 10,500 vials per week has been fixed for J&K by GoI, at present.

JAMMU, Apr 24: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer today convened a meeting of Health Department to review the status of availability of medical oxygen supply to Government Hospitals across the Jammu division in view of the Covid-19.
MD NMH apprised the Divisional Commissioner about the availability, demand and supply position of oxygen cylinders in various health care institutions of the Jammu division.
Pertinently, the Divisional Commissioner has already constituted a committee headed by Controller Drug, J&K, and consisting of Joint  Controller Legal Metrology Jammu, Controller Stores Directorate Health Services Jammu and Joint Director Industries and Commerce to seek reports of production by 08 private medical oxygen supply firms operating in Industrial Estates of Jammu/Samba/Kathua/Udhampur and to ensure the supply of oxygen to various districts.

JAMMU, APRIL 21: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer today convened a meeting of Health and Medical Education Department regarding rationalization of Covid cases management in designated private health care institutions.
The meeting was attended by CEO Shrine Board, Ramesh Kumar; Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg; CEO Ayushman Bharat, Sagar Doifode; MD NHM, Yasin Choudhary; Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Principal Government Medical College Jammu, Director Health, besides Director ASCOMS, Jammu and management of  Narayana Hospital and other concerned officers.
Keeping in view the surge in Covid-19 cases in recent times and to keep all possible facilities in place for treatment of Covid-19 positive cases; the Div Com directed the ASCOMS and Narayana Hospitals to increase their bed capacity for Covid-19 cases with all necessary facilities like ICU, Ventilators etc. The Div Com also directed both the institutions to share regular details of bed occupancy with MD NHM and Director Health Services.

JAMMU, Apr 11: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer today convened a meeting of Health & Medical Education Department to review the Covid-19 related issues, primarily the status of availability of medical oxygen supply to Government Hospitals across the Jammu division.
It was directed by the Divisional Commissioner that all private Medical Oxygen suppliers shall immediately reserve 50 percent of their capacity to cater to the demand of Government Institutions.
In this regard, the Divisional Commissioner also constituted a committee headed by Director Industries & Commerce and consisting of Controller Legal Metrology Jammu, Controller Stores Directorate Health services, Assistant Controller Drugs.

JAMMU, Apr 9: Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education, Atal Dulloo today chaired a meeting with senior officers of Health Department with regards to COVID-19 management here. The meeting was called to discuss issues like availability of general and oxygen supported beds in hospitals of J&K.
Speaking to the officers, the Financial Commissioner said that the capacity to conduct RTPCR tests be increased in excess of at least 10 thousand tests. He set a target of immediate functioning of minimum 18 oxygen generation plants in Kashmir division and 5 such plants in Jammu division. He also directed that an officer be deputed to look after availability of these facilities in government hospitals in both the divisions.
