Some WSU students may miss out on graduating

A number of Walter Sisulu University students could miss their graduation ceremony in May after the university missed its own deadline to compile the list of graduating students. It is understood that a university senate meeting held to approve the final list of graduands to be capped in May sat on February 29.

WSU receives full accreditation for building courses

Union loses court bid to halt WSU rationalisation

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu) has lost its court bid to interdict Walter Sisulu University’s implementation of its rationalisation and consolidation plan.The union took the university to the labour court in Johannesburg, citing improper consultation over the plan.

Sibongile Mani, the Walter Sisulu University student who lived her millionaire dream after National Student Financial Aid Scheme funds were erroneously deposited into her student account, no longer faces jail time for her theft conviction.
