A Young County grand jury indicted Jose Luis Alamilla-Quevedo, 41, in May regarding a March charge of indecency with a child by sexual contact. Alamilla-Quevedo was arrested Sunday, March 12 in Graham for the alleged offense. In a recently made public document, the indictment states Alamilla-Quevedo did with intent engage in sexual contact with the victim who was under 17 years of age.
A Young County man was indicted in May on a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon stemming from a disturbance at a residence on FM 1769 in March. Andrew James Graves, 20, was arrested in March, booked in the Young County Jail and released in April on the charge. In a recently made public document, the indictment states Graves intentionally and knowingly threatened his father, Aaron Graves, with bodily injury by cutting his leg with an electric reciprocating saw and used or exhibited the weapon during the assault.
A Young County man was arrested and charged last week with aggravated assault, family violence with a deadly weapon, a first degree felony. Jeffrey Charles Hilliard, 42, is being held on bonds totaling $490,000 following multiple charges from Young and Jack counties. A probable cause affidavit from Young County stated that the charge for the assault/family violence with a deadly weapon occurred after his girlfriend reported to a law enforcement agency she was assaulted by being beaten and strangled by Hilliard, who was her live-in boyfriend.

Young County, Graham and Newcaste are seeing drops in sales tax allocations for May. These allocations are based on sales made in March by businesses that report sales taxes monthly and sales made in January, February and March by quarterly filers. Since the beginning of 2018, Graham has seen increases which exceeded their year-to-date budget, starting with a 0.49% increase in January 2018, with the only drop being sales made in August 2020 and January 2023. Sales tax allocations do not make up the bulk of city or county revenues.
