Armed with a PhD in astronomy and astrophysics, Dr Charles Mpho Takalana is on a mission to popularise astronomy across the length and breadth of Africa.
One of only a few black astronomers in South Africa, Takalana, who obtained his PhD in 2020 from the University of the Witwatersrand may have his head in the clouds or in this case, the starry skies, but he is firmly rooted in the African continent and deeply passionate about sharing his enthusiasm with Africa’s young people.
