Group scheduled to issue final report in mid-2024; some lawmakers seeking quicker action
Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy said he would not support adding $15 million to boost the wages of child care workers despite calls from advocates who say such a move is needed to prevent child care providers from falling “off a cliff.”
The task force will be made up of state officials, plus representatives of tribal, nonprofit, military and other child care programs.
