Much of Central Texas will be under a Heat Warning until 9 p.m. Wednesday. Temperatures will head for 106 with feels like temps nearing 110 to 113 for several hours this afternoon.
Small and moderate hail and lots of lightning are possible. Parts of Central Texas from Austin to the Hill Country have been upgraded to an enhanced risk of severe storms tonight.
This heat is bringing back flashbacks to the Summer of 2011. If the rain doesn't show up we could be in for 70 to 80 100-degree days.
Storms will fill in along the front starting in the Hill Country by early afternoon. Then the line will push south toward the Austin metro between 3 and 6 p.m.
A strong southerly wind will get the atmosphere ready to go to produce rain and storms on Thursday.
