SDM Zanskar tours Jangchung - Scoop News Jammu Kashmir

Zanskar,January 15 (Scoop News)-Following the snowfall and freezing temperature, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanskar, Sonam Dorjay on Friday visited Jangchung after receiving the information regarding the road condition of Stodh area.

Enroute, he found that ice sheet formatted on many streams including at Chortain, Khorloo, Skyagam, Lungmoor, Khushul Akshow Nallah.

At Skyagam stream, the ice sheet was around 200 metres stretch and was very difficult for vehicular movement.

SDM Zanskar directed the NHIDCL and Mechanical Division Zanskar to remove the ice sheet and make necessary arrangements to discharge the blocked water by deploying machine and spreading of soils on the ices.

He also directed the PWD Department to deploy two casual labours at every spot of ice formatted area to look after the channels for smooth flow of water.

SDM Zanskar himself monitored the channeling at Skyagam stream and through the vehicular movements.

540 children between 15-18 years inoculated in Kargil - Scoop News Jammu Kashmir

Kargil, January 03 (Scoop News)-The Covid-19 vaccination for children from 15 to 18 years age group was kick-started in Kargil district today during which 540 children received the first dose at various vaccination sites.
As per official figures, over 540 doses of vaccines were administered on the first day of vaccination at various parts of Kargil including Sankoo, Taisuru, Zanskar, Drass, Shargole and Chiktan.
The Health Department has set up vaccination sites across the district to vaccinate the children between 15 to 18 years age group.
Besides vaccination, counseling facilities for children have also been made across the district in order to encourage them to get vaccinated.
The drive is a part of the national campaign against the Covid-19 pandemic, which has generated hope among the students as well as their teachers about resumption of their normal schooling which was badly hit by the disease since its outbreak in early 2020.
