Medical and non-medical personnel who are serving across the various quarantine containment, health, vaccination and other facilities in the country will each receive “frontline heroes gratitude packs”.
The initiative is a collective approach between the Sai Prema Foundation Fiji and the New Zealand High Commission.
Foundation director Sumeet Tappoo said they were thankful to all the frontline workers who were working tirelessly to protect Fiji.
“It is important to stop and take time out to express our love and gratitude to our frontline heroes and thank them for their dedication and sacrifice,” he said. ....

2,500 medical and non-medical personnel have received Heroes Gratitude Packs worth over $72,000 from Sai Prema Foundation and the NZ High Commission.
These are frontline workers who are serving across the various quarantine, containment, health, vaccination and other health facilities around the nation.
Each pack includes a 260ml MedX Hand Sanitizer, 1 litre Golden Circle Fruit Juice, Punjas Cookies, Sunrise Bhuja Packs, FMF Chow Noodles, Red Cow Milk Powder and Punjas Ceylon Tea Bags. ....

Fiji Police Force receive personal protective equipment to assist the COVID-19 response

Suva, Fiji – Police officers in Fiji have been on the frontline supporting government’s response measures to the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring safety and security of all Fijians. They are at risk of infection when carrying out their duty. New Zealand and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) handed over personal protective equipment (PPE) worth FJ$85,500 to the Fiji Police Force to help protect individual police officers from potential health risks.
The PPE items, which include 10,000 KN95 masks, 30,000 gloves, and 300 bottles of hand sanitizers, are being delivered to police officers on duty in towns and communities. In addition, protective measures established in March 2020 following COVID-19 community cases, further containment measures are currently in place across the main island of Viti Levu since 26 April 2021 to protect people in Fiji from a potential COVID-19 comm ....
