General Motors Africa & Middle East (GM AMEO) has announced updates to its Executive Team to support its vision of Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion.
RIYADH: Automotive company General Motors Africa and Middle East, or GM AMEO, has appointed Sajed Sbeih to the role of vice president of strategy, product & operations at GM Europe. Sbeih was previously serving as the managing director of commercial operations for GM Middle East & Sub-Saharan Africa, according to the company’s statement. Currently named as GM AMEO chief
General Motors will launch 13 new Electric Vehicles (EVs) in the Middle East by 2025, spearheaded by the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, GMC Hummer EV and Cadillac Lyriq.
In keeping with its efforts to minimise environmental impact, GM aims to eliminate tailpipe emissions from new light-duty vehicles by 2035 and plans to be carbon neutral by 2040 in its global products and operations. To reach these goals, the automaker plans to decarbonise its portfolio by transitioning to battery electric vehicles or other zero-emissions vehicle technology, sourcing renewable energy and leveraging minimal offsets or credits.
