Based on specific intelligence developed by DRI Mumbai Zonal Unit, a container carrying pears and green apples, being imported from South Africa, was intercepted at Nhava Sheva port on 6 October.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized more than 50 kilograms of "high-quality" cocaine worth Rs 502 crore from a container carrying fruits at the Nhava Sheva Port in neighbouring Navi Mumbai, an official said on Saturday.
The container was intercepted at Nhava Sheva port on October 6.
The city-based zonal unit of DRI received specific information that two persons would be transporting a huge quantity of cannabis (ganja) in a truck.
The gold was concealed in different ways inside the body cavity, undergarments, shoes, and a specially designed waist belt, officials claimed, officials said.
