MARDAN: As many as 656 FIRs have been lodged over violation of the anti-coronavirus SOPs in the district during the last four days, while the police also launched campaign on SOPs on Wednesday.
District Police Officer Dr Zahidullah Khan told journalists that the district police have launched a campaign to raise awareness among the public about the importance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) through loudspeaker announcements, social media and involving religious scholars in various parts of the district.
“We are focusing on a two-pronged strategy. On the one hand, our aim is to curb crimes and on the other, we want to ensure implementation of the SOPs to save lives and contain the contagion,” he added. ....

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid on Wednesday categorically said no one would be allowed to create chaos in the country and strict action would be taken against those challenging the writ of the state as he shed light on the agreement between the government and the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

Delhi government has ordered lodging of FIRs against four airlines IndiGo, Vistara, SpiceJet and AirAsia India for carrying passengers from Maharashtra to the national capital without valid RT-PCR reports.
It may be recalled that the Delhi government had mandated that airlines should check Covid-19 negative reports of flyers from Maharashtra. It had ordered that a negative RT-PCR report not older than 72 hours prior to undertaking the journey shall be compulsory for all such persons who are arriving from Maharashtra to Delhi by air. The passengers who are found without a negative report will have to remain in quarantine for 14 days, the Delhi government had said. ....

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police Investigation Wing has launched a Short-Message-Service (SMS), aimed at updating complainants on status of their First Information Reports (FIR).
Under this automated system, both the complainant and the respective investigation officer (IO) would be intimated via SMS about lodging of an FIR, a police spokesman said.
He said the initiative would ensure a constant coordination between an investigation officer and plaintiff. The IO would have to inform the complainant about the progress of case after the SMS alert, he added.
The spokesman said the officers would also contact the plaintiff to find out if he/she was facing any problem in pursuing the case. He said the Islamabad Capital Territory police had opted to modern technologies in line with the vision of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman, who had been a strong pr ....
