It was dedicated to Re-Start - 7 innovative ideas for restarting - this year s edition of the Top of the Pid award assigned at Maker Faire in Rome - The European Edition, the largest European event of science, technology and innovation, on December 11, 2020.

Over 200 exhibitors have already registered for the second edition of CastForge from 8 to 10 June 2021 and are looking forward to a safe and successful event. Super quick refractory lining fix saves Schlicht Druckguss precious production time
An innovative furnace lining and pre-sintered refractory parts solution from StrikoWestofen for Westomat dosing furnaces has provided a much-needed quick fix for Schlicht Druckguss, a high-pressure die casting foundry specializing in the global supply of aluminium alloy parts, moulds and tooling.
Based in Holzminden, Lower Saxony, Germany, the Schlicht Druckguss die casting plant sees Italpresse Gauss die casting machines handle around 1,700 tonnes of aluminium every year, all fed with liquid metal from its melting plants.

Celebrating a partnership with the Technical University of Clausthal: The HA Center of Competence and the University of Lower Saxony have announced plans to collaborate on a number of exciting joint projects. The Minister of Science of Lower Saxony also underlined the state government’s commitment to young scientists and accepted an invitation to visit HA’s Center of Competence.
On Monday, September 21, Björn Thümler, Science Minister of Lower Saxony, visited the HA CoC. Foundrymen are often faced with the problem of finding a suitable casting and feeding technique for castings that are difficult or impossible to ingate from their perimeter. This may be due to the nature of the component or limited space on the pattern plate.
With Foseco’s new KALPUR development, foundrymen can for the first time apply the direct pouring technique to automatic green sand moulding lines. This means that the specific advantages of direct pouring, such as improved yield and directional solidifcation can now be realised on moulding lines where access to the cope is not possible. ....
