Here’s an important announcement for all the motorists those who own a car any other four-wheeler. The Central Government brought a new rule which will come into effect from today. The government has made the use of FASTag mandatory across all toll plazas on the National Highway network from February 15 (Monday) midnight. Vehicles not fitted with them will have to pay double the toll charge, said the Union Ministry of Road Transport.
“It has been decided that all lanes in the fee plazas on National Highways shall be declared as FASTag lane with effect from the midnight of February 15, it said. As per National Highway Fee Rules 2008, any vehicle not fitted with FASTag or any vehicle without valid, functional FASTag entering into the FASTag lane of the fee plaza shall pay a fee equivalent to two times the fee applicable to that category, the statement said. ....

New Delhi, Feb 15: Vehicles without FASTag would have to to pay double the toll fee at electronic toll plazas from Monday midnight across the country.
The government has made FASTags mandatory from February 15 midnight and any vehicle not fitted with it will be charged double the toll at electronic toll plazas across the country, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has said.
It has decided that all lanes in the fee plazas on National Highways shall be declared as FASTag lane of the fee plaza from midnight of February 15-16, 2021. ....

FASTag made Mandatory from Today Midnight:- The Indian government made it mandatory for all the four-wheelers in the country for FASTag. The rule will be implemented from the midnight of today. All the fee plazas on the national highways of India are declared as FASTag lanes as per the statement from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Any four-wheeler with out FASTag is not valid and will be charged double the toll starting from today midnight as per the NH Fee Rules 2008. FASTag was introduced in 2016 but some of them have been objected as it took time for the vehicles to take FASTag. Though January 1st was the deadline, it was pushed to today. ....

FASTag is becoming mandatory starting today. Everyone who has a road trip on the cards will need a FASTag for their car in order to cross toll plaza s across national highways. The deadline today is an extended deadline from the previous January 1 deadline put in place by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
