Judge: It was 'undeniable'

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad’s solicitation for bribes was “activated” by his use of the word salam (greetings) through his former special officer, says the High Court here.
Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali, who found the former Felda chairman guilty of nine counts of graft, said it was undeniable that Isa was involved in soliciting more than RM3mil as kickback to approve Felda’s purchase of a hotel in Kuching.

Isa Samad files appeal against graft conviction, posts bail

(pic) has filed an appeal against his conviction on nine counts of corruption, and also posted bail.
His lawyer Datuk Salehuddin Saidin told The Star that the former Negri Sembilan mentri besar filed the notice through e-filing on Thursday (Feb 4) and paid RM700,000 in increased bail as ordered by the High Court.
Isa was seen leaving the Criminal High Court registry counter and the court complex here just before 2pm.
On Wednesday (Feb 3), Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali convicted him of nine counts of dishonestly receiving gratification for himself, totalling RM3,090,000 in cash, for helping to approve the purchase of a hotel by Felda Investment Corporation for RM160mil. ....
