The UC Santa Barbara Police Department sent a timely warning to all students Wednesday night after it received a report of a rape at People’s Park in Isla Vista on April 5.   
The assault, which was reported to the UC Santa Barbara Police Department on April 6, is now being investigated by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s office, according to the timely warning. The parties involved in the sexual assault are not affiliated with the UCSB community. 
The timely warning was sent in accordance with the Clery Act, which requires universities to notify their campus communities when certain crimes, such as stalking, sexual assault and hate crimes, are committed on campus or campus-adjacent property.  ....
