Kuantan cops nab teenagers, youths for allegedly bike racing in EMCO area

KUANTAN: Authorities here have nabbed seven teenagers and youths who were allegedly racing motorcycles in an enhanced movement control order area.
The arrests were made after the police tracked down several individuals seen in a Facebook video racing on the Kuantan Bypass near Terminal Sentral Kuantan.
Kuantan OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Noor Yusof Ali said the seven, aged from 15 to 27, were arrested under Operasi Khas Samseng Jalanan and have been remanded for four days until June 8.
He said the operation was carried out at about 9pm on Friday (June 4).
Their actions posed great danger to themselves and other motorists. This illegal racing is believed to have taken place on May 30 at about 7pm. The suspects and their vehicles have been taken for further action, said ACP Mohamad Noor. ....

Perak Transit 4Q net profit grows 12% amid contribution from new IPTT, declares 0.8 sen dividend

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 23): Perak Transit Bhd reported net profit of RM13.19 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2020 (4QFY20), up 12% from RM11.83 million in the previous year’s corresponding quarter, amid contributions from a newly commenced terminal.
Revenue for the quarter rose 7.6% to RM35.26 million from RM32.76 million a year earlier. Earnings per share dipped to 0.69 sen from 0.83 sen.
It declared a dividend of 0.8 sen per share for the financial year.
In a statement, the group said the strong performance was underpinned by the Integrated Public Transportation Terminal (IPTT) operations, which saw higher project facilitation fee and better advertising and promotional (A&P) income, following the commencement of contributions from Kampar Putra Sentral from September onwards. ....

Perak Transit teams up with Energetic Point to run Kuantan bus terminal

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 14): Perak Transit Bhd has teamed up with concession owner Energetic Point Sdn Bhd to operate Terminal Sentral Kuantan in Pahang, which serves as a hub for express buses as well as local city buses.
Perak Transit said the collaboration is in line with the group’s business plans to develop and operate integrated public transportation terminals in other cities.
The collaboration is consistent with the overall corporate strategy to capture opportunities to further expand its business to provide its valuable experience and know-how in terminal set up, management and operation of bus terminals. By venturing into terminal management services, it involvs minimal capital expenditure with faster growth and recurring earnings, it added in a bourse filing today. ....
