NTDC secures Rs6.4bln to evacuate 1,224 MW wind power

LAHORE: The National Transmission and Despatch Company Ltd (NTDC) has secured Rs6.4 billion Financing Facility to evacuate 1,224 MW clean renewable energy generated by wind power plants located at Jhimpir Wind Corridor, a statement said on Tuesday.
The financing facility has been availed from a consortium of banks comprising Habib Bank Limited, National Bank of Pakistan, and BankIslami Pakistan Limited. The financing facility will be utilised for the construction of 220/132 kV substation and 35 km long allied transmission lines for the evacuation of clean energy. Engr Muhammad Ayub, Managing Director NTDC, signed the contract of financing facility with Asad Altaf, GM Corporate Banking Head (Central) HBL, Zia-ud-Din Tahir, Unit Head NBP (Corporate), and Amir Ashraf, Head Corporate (Central) BankIslami during a ceremony held here at WAPDA House. ....

New member of power construction camp--China Economic Net

ISLAMABAD, Apr 9th (Gwadar Pro) - China National Technical Import and Export Corporation (CNTIC), a subsidiary of Genertec, signed a contract to augment 220kV Grid Station Shikarpur, located in Sindh, with National Transmission and Despatch Company Ltd. (NTDC) this week.
Shikarpur project, the first electricity project CNTIC contracted to build in Pakistan, is just a beginning and they will sign more grid projects in 2021. It means there’s a new Chinese player in the domestic power construction camp.
It’s a landmark for both sides. Zhao Yu, General Manager of Power Grids Division of CNTIC, introduced to Gwadar Pro: “From NTDC’s side, in order to improve the availability, reliability and efficiency of national transmission grid, they created the National Transmission Modernization I Project. Shikarpur station, one of the most important key parts of this huge plan, will decisively improve grid construction in Pakistan.” ....

Nepra allows Discos to charge Rs1.53/unit additional in Feb bills

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) Wednesday allowed the power distribution companies, except K-Electric, to charge Rs1.53/unit extra from consumers on account of monthly Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) for December 2020. The power distribution companies (Discos) would collect the amount from consumers in their February 2021 bills. The hike was allowed as the consumers were charged less in December against the cost of power generation. After this increase, Discos will collect an additional Rs11.6 billion from consumers. This increase will be not applicable to K-Electric for being a privatised company. In January’s electricity bills, the government had allowed power distribution companies to charge Rs1.06/unit extra from consumers. ....
