The All-India Quarterly Establishment based Employment Survey will be conducted online.
Amid the raging second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, the government has decided to conduct the All-India Quarterly Establishment based Employment Survey online to get an estimate of the impact of the pandemic on jobs.
Earlier, the government had decided to suspend four surveys to be undertaken by the Labour Bureau All-India Survey on Migrant workers, All-India Survey on Domestic Workers, All-India Survey on Employment Generated by Professionals, and All-India Survey on Employment Generated in Transport Sector. ....

The second wave of Corona Virus has hit, the strain has proven to be more virulent. India in the past seven days has reported over three lakh cases per day. Currently, 150 districts in the country have a COVID positive rate passing 20 percent and hence debating a lockdown. This reminisce the terrifying images of the COVID-19 induced national lockdown in March 2020 which manifested the glaring gap in policy implementation in urban centers not accounting for the migrant population. It seems the country is back to the same page, none the wiser.
To avoid the memoirs of 2020 erred lockdown, migrants are returning to their villages. This re-exodus of the migrants from urban centers is a result of trust deficit of this section of populous in the urban governance. New Delhi: A series of back to back meetings were held on 28.02.2021 and 01.03.2021 at Kolkata under the Chairmanship of the Chairman of the Expert GroupProf. SP Mukherjee and Director General, Labour Bureau Shri DPS Negito finalize the schedules and sampling methodology for the five All India Surveys relating to Domestic Workers, Migrant Workers, Employment Generated by the Professionals, the Employment Generated in Transport Sector and the All India Quarterly Establishment based Employment Survey.
 
 
Detailed discussions and in-depth deliberations were held to finalize and freeze the schedules for all the five All-India Surveys. Prof. S P Mukherjee, the Chairman of the Expert Group, in close consultation with the subject matter experts and senior officers from the IES and ISS discussed and finalized the schedules for all the Five All-India Surveys to be canvassed. ....

Labour Bureau organises training of trainers for five All-India Surveys

New Delhi: Labour Bureau, Chandigarh organised the Training of Trainers for the five All India Surveys relating to Domestic Workers, Migrant Workers, Employment Generated by the Professionals, the Employment Generated in Transport Sector and the All India Quarterly Establishment based Employment Survey on 20th February, 2020. The training was presided over by Prof. SP Mukherjee, the Chairman of the Expert Group, Dr. Amitabh Kundu, the Co-Chairman of the Expert Group and Shri DPS Negi, Director General of Labour Bureau. Labour Bureau, Chandigarh, is an attached office of the Ministry of Labour & Employment.
The back-to-back training sessions were a part of the 3-day comprehensive training sessions to be imparted to the officers/officials of Labour Bureau, the officers from the 7 regional offices of Labour Bureau and officials from various state governments. ....
