JOHOR BARU: More than 100,000 compounds have been issued nationwide for various Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) violations since March last year. Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Comm Datuk Seri Abd Rahim Jaafar said apart from not wearing face masks and failing to practice physical distancing, another common violation was attempting to cross state borders without valid reasons. “We understand the public’s sentiment. Some are upset getting stuck for hours at police roadblocks but we are just doing our part to break the chain of infections,” he told a press conference in Taman Desa Idaman in Senai here on Wednesday (May 12). ....
KUALA LUMPUR: Those who have to travel across district or state borders for work need to provide a letter from either the International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) or their employer, along with a company tag, when stopped at any roadblock, says Bukit Aman. Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Comm Datuk Seri Abd Rahim Jaafar said: “A police permit is not required when an individual is travelling for work and is able to provide such documents when stopped by police. “A letter from Miti or their employer as well as company tags are proof that an individual is travelling for work, ” he said yesterday. ....

KUANTAN: A total of 1,333 vehicles attempting interstate travel nationwide were ordered to turn back yesterday, said Bukit Aman Department of Internal Security and Public Order director Datuk Seri Abd Rahim Jaafar. He said there were those who tried to go through the roadblocks with permission forms that did not have a signature and stamp from the police. “Some of them were trying their luck. perhaps thinking policemen will overlook and so on,“ he told reporters after inspecting the roadblock in Tanjung Lumpur, here, today, which was also attended by Kuantan District Police chief ACP Mohamad Noor Yusof Ali. ....
