ABU DHABI, 23rd May 2021 (WAM) - Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, officially inaugurated the 30th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair.
The fair, organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), is held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). ....

The coronavirus has dealt a body blow to a lot of companies and industries around the world. Airlines have been grounded, layoffs have left many in the lurch, while many plants have shuttered.
The publishing sector in the region has also suffered due to the suspension of cultural events and book fairs, both regionally and globally. As a result, numerous publishers have been contemplating to either suspend operations temporarily or even close their businesses.
But not all is not lost, thanks to the generosity and magnanimity of Sharjah’s leadership. The Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) has welcomed a new directive issued by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to build a new HQ for EPA, which will be situated near Sharjah Expo Centre. It will be located near the Expo Centre Sharjah.
A new office will be built for the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA), according to a new directive issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The headquarters will be situated near the Expo Centre Sharjah. Senior EPA officials welcomed the directive, saying it reflect’s the Sharjah Ruler’s “unwavering support to the local publishing sector”. They noted that the office will provide the association with an ideal environment to realise its goals and strategies, which have been set to serve Sharjah and the UAE. ....

Sheikh Sultan meets the President and members of the Emirates Writers Union and the Emirates Publishers Association.
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, announced the Emirates Writers Union and the Emirates Publishers Association will have their own dedicated building near the Expo Centre, Sharjah.
This came as Dr Sheikh Sultan addressed a meeting for the two unions today at the headquarters of the Sharjah Book Authority.
