Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned four projects of 52.4-km worth ₹1,139.12 crore for Arunachal Pradesh during 2020-21, tweeted the Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday. Also, the Ministry has sanctioned 195.6-km of National Highways at a cost of ₹1,005.38 Crore in Telangana for 2020-21.
All the Arunachal Pradesh projects will be undertaken on engineering procurement mode, which means the projects will be done on a fully government-funded basis.
The projects include two packages relating to four-laning of Itanagar to Banderdewa stretch (with a budget ₹496.47 crore and ₹437.6 crore); widening of existing two-lane with paved shoulder from Hukanjuri to Khonsa (with a budget ₹182.55 crore), four-laning of Holongi to Itanagar section (₹22.5 crore), as per the tweet. ....

IL&FS receives settlement amount of Rs 693 cr from NHAI

ITNL, a subsidiary of IL&FS, on 31 March 2021 has duly received settlement amount of Rs 673 crore for Kiratpur Ner Chowk Expressway (KNCEL) and Rs 20 crore towards claims for Chenani Nashri Tunnelway (CNTL) - from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
With these two projects, NHAI and MoRTH have settled aggregate IL&FS claims of over Rs 1,804 crore across 6 Road projects.
KNCEL project was foreclosed under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) guidelines of March 2019 for stalled and incomplete projects. CNTL is a completed project, earning annuities, and the Rs 19.6 crore is the claim amount towards change of scope. ....

The ministry of road transport and highways has constructed 13,394 km of highways in fiscal year 2020-21.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that the pace of highways construction in the country has touched a record 37 km per day in financial year 2020-21.
He said the achievement was remarkable as it was achieved despite constraints posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

New Delhi: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on March 17 issued a new set of guidelines for the recall of defective vehicles by automobile manufacturers.
Wherever a minimum number of complaints, which ranges from 100 to around 1,250 for different categories of vehicle against total sales of model is received on vehicle recall portal, mandatory recall is to be initiated, the ministry said. ....
