Norwegian Church Aid and DanChurchAid (NCA/DCA) joint country program in Malawi on Monday donated hand sanitisers and face masks to Kasungu District Council and Chipumi Health Centre in Mchinji to aid both health and extension workers’ CoVID-19 Control. Daisy Katsoka, NCA/DCA’s water and sanitation hygiene (WASH) officer, said the donation was not an isolated one but an addition to WASH activities they are implementing in the areas they are constructing. Receiving hand sanitizer donation “The early childhood development centres have a WASH component providing clean portable water extending to the community. “Chipumi and Santhe Health Centres are in our impact areas. They serve our project beneficiaries hence our support to them. The support will also reach out to extension workers in the areas.” ....
At least 180, 000 agriculture-dependent rural households are expected to benefit from The Sustainable Food Systems for Rural Agriculture Transformation and Resilience (TRANSFORM) Programme, which a consortium of three Norwegian organizations is implementing in five districts in Malawi. TRANSFORM Programme is being implemented in Dowa, Mchinji, Kasungu, Mzimba and Rumphi with an annual grant of NOK70m (MWK5.6billion) from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) through Royal Norwegian Embassy (RNE). 22 April 2021 In the past years Concerts SA has supported thousands of musicians to tour the southern African region with funding for various expenses, including transport, accommodation and artist fees. To encourage ongoing ‘movement’ in the locked-down music sector, Concerts SA has opened a call for applications for the 2021 DIGITAL MOBILITY FUND (DMF) . This year’s fund follows in the footsteps of the ground-breaking Concerts SA Digital Mobility Fund that supported live music during the heart of the COVID19 pandemic. It is supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy, the Swiss-based Levedo Foundation, the SAMRO. ‘As of the first lock-down in 2020 COVID-19 crippled the live music sector.
