In fulfilment of his campaign promise to change the narrative of the state from a civil service state to an industrial hub within the Gulf of Guinea, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel on Wednesday, performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the multi-billion dollar Petrochemical and fertilizer company, Sterling Petro-Chemicals and Fertilizer Production Factory, in Eastern Obolo LGA.
The project is between the Akwa Ibom State Government and SPFL Developers for the purpose of setting up the Petrochemical and Fertilizer Production Factory, in line with the Federal Government National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP). ....

NNPC normalises petrol supply in week of Petroleum Tanker Drivers strike

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) began its week with the task of normalising the supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at different filling stations in the country especially the FCT following the strike embarked upon by Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) over remuneration.
The normalisation started with the corporation increasing the daily supply of petrol across the country from 550 trucks to 1,661 trucks to combat the buildup of fuel queues in some parts of the country.
It would be recalled that the intervention of Malam Mele Kyari, NNPC Group Managing Director, led to the suspension of the strike by the PTD for one week. ....

NNPC, SEEPCO sign GDA to unlock 1.2TCF in OML 143

Abuja The gas development and commercialization programme of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) received a boost Thursday with the execution of the Oil Mining Lease (OML) 143 Gas Development Agreement (GDA) by the NNPC and its partner, Sterling Oil Exploration and Production Company (SEEPCO).
A statement by the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Dr. Kennie Obateru, disclosed that the project would boost the nation’s gas production by 1.2trillion cubic feet (tcf).
Speaking at the GDA signing ceremony which held at the NNPC Towers, Abuja, the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari, said the gas commercialization strategy of the Corporation was in sync with the Federal Government’s National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP), adding that the gas from the project would be processed at the Ashtavinayak Hydrocarbon Limited (AHL) 125million standard cubic feet (mmscf) of gas per day gas plant located in Kwale, Delta State. ....
