Kolkata: The state’s Council of Higher Secondary Education yesterday published the subject-wise question pattern for the upcoming higher secondary examination on the reduced syllabus.
The school heads were informed by the council about steps to hold the practical examinations. Several higher secondary candidates are happy since the question pattern would now permit them to understand the alterations which have been brought in after decrease in the syllabus in a Covid year. ....

Possibility that the premises will be taken over because of the Assembly elections
The state higher secondary council has allowed schools “relaxation” in starting the HS practical exams, giving them the freedom to advance the schedule if there is a possibility that the premises will be taken over because of the Assembly elections, officials said.
The earlier order had asked the schools to conduct the in-person practical exams from March 10 to 31.
An official of the council said that as security forces were expected to enter the schools well before the start of the polls, the institutions have been allowed to modify the schedule depending on the situation. ....

Chapter-wise blueprint for Madhyamik

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education on Thursday announced a “blueprint” that provides details on chapter/topic-wise questions and marks in each subject factoring in the reduction in the syllabus necessitated by the Covid pandemic.
The state government had last month pruned the syllabuses for the students of Classes X and XII, who will write their board exams next year, as in-person classes could not be held because of the pandemic.
The blueprint uploaded on the secondary education board’s website details how many multiple choice questions, very short questions, short and explanatory and essay-type questions each paper could have in next year’s Madhyamik, the dates of which have not yet been announced. ....
