RAMBAN, July 26: One person was killed and a Railway police officer among four persons were feared dead while 12 others sustained injuries in two tragic road accidents that occurred today in the jurisdiction of police Stations Banihal and Ramban, respectively.
According to the reports, four persons of a family were travelling in their personal car bearing registration number JK02CM-7664 from Srinagar to Jammu but on reaching near Mehar area of Ramban at around 2.30 pm, driver of the car Rakesh Kumar, an officer of Railway Protection Force (RPF), lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into river Chenab flowing along the road. ....

SRINAGAR, July 8: The much-needed Echocardiography Machine (ECHO) was today installed at Government Medical College Anantnag with the result the long pending demand of the population was fulfilled.
HOD, Medicine, Dr Gh Jeelani Romshoo said that the department’s priority is to install the latest high-end equipment in the hospital for better diagnosis and optimal management of patients.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Dept of Medicine at present has one cardiologist, Dr Showkat H Shah (Consultant) apart from other trained technical staff.
Principal GMC Anantnag, Dr Syed Tariq Qureshi said that the administration is keen to procure and install the latest medical gadgets at associated hospitals of GMC Anantnag. ....

DDC directs for completing construction work of GMC Anantnag in a time bound manner

Anantnag: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today directed the officials of executing agency (JKPCC) to expedite the pace of ongoing work in various blocks of Government Medical College Anantnag and complete the project in a time bound manner.
He passed these directions on his visit to the College at Dialgam where he enquired about the status of work besides making onspot assessment of its quality and pace.
The DDC inspected different blocks of the college including Academic, Library and Administrative Blocks, Residential Quarters and Hostels.
Checking the quality of material, the DDC stressed for use of quality and durable material in tune with the standards and local conditions.
