Further works in Hamley Bridge and Balaklava’s main street developments have been given the green light after Wakefield Regional Council (WRC) committed an extra $500,000 grant funding to the project.
The Main Street Upgrade project, supported by the Federal Government’s Drought Communities Program, now covers street spraying in Balaklava for Howe Street and Edith Terrace and kerb upgrades in George Street.
In Hamley Bridge, Light Street will receive major renewal works to the road surface and a footpath upgrade, as well as footpath upgrades to Annie Street.
The additional works will be supported with funding from the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (LRCI). ....

Kempsey Shire Council is continuing to take steps to provide users of the Kempsey Regional Saleyards with a first-class facility following a series of capital improvements.
Council received funding from the Federal Government’s Drought Communities Program to undertake upgrades at the Saleyards. The recent upgrades include new soft flooring and a cattle crush.
Council worked with a group of key stakeholders, who use the Saleyards on a regular basis, to identify priority projects for the yards.
The number one priority for the group was having a high-quality manual crush installed which would allow for multiple operators to safely process and immobilise cattle. ....

Lismore City Council will soon begin construction of a new solar shade structure in the Clyde Campbell Carpark funded through a Federal Government grant.
The project features construction of a roof structure with a 99.9kW solar PV system over 40 public carparks in the Clyde Campbell Carpark as well as installation of an electric vehicle car-charging station.
The project will provide much-needed shade for visitors to the CBD and the solar energy generated from the panels will be fed back to electricity grid with revenue funding ongoing maintenance costs.
“The solar shade project for Clyde Campbell Carpark is a great example of local government showing leadership on climate change issues and working towards becoming a sustainable city that embraces renewable energy,” Deputy Mayor Neil Marks said. ....

On Monday February 1, Lismore City Council announced it will soon begin construction of a new solar shade structure in the Clyde Campbell Carpark funded through a Federal Government grant.
