Livelihood technology pitching sessions offered by DOST to OFWs

Hoping to spark the interest of applicant-Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to start their own ventures, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) conducted a series of pitching sessions showcasing its locally-developed technologies.

8 Filipino women chosen for Australian agricultural R&D fellowship awards

Eight outstanding Filipino women in the field of agricultural research and development have been awarded the prestigious Meryl Williams Fellowship by the Australian government through the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR).
Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Steven Robinson AO made the announcement, citing the awardees’ “demonstrated capacity for leadership and innovation, their research excellence, and their commitment to agricultural development”.
“The Australian Government is at the forefront of efforts to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment. The Meryl Williams Fellowship is one of these efforts, focusing on supporting women who are steering transformational changes in agricultural research,” Robinson said in a statement on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. ....

Dr. Imelda Angeles-Agdeppa, the director of the Department of Science and Technology’s Food and Nutrition Research Institute in the Philippines, was recently interviewed by CNN-Philippines about a study she led comparing COVID patients who ate a regular hospital diet, with patients who ate the exact same diet but supplemented with Virgin Coconut Oil, according to their body weight.
She reported that at the end of 28 days, all of the patients who received the Virgin Coconut Oil supplementation exhibited no more symptoms of COVID-19.
This is an interesting study, because the results depended upon COVID symptoms, and not faulty PCR test results, such as those that were used for the COVID mRNA vaccine trials. ....
