'Oh God! I'm about to kill my entire family!' – Covid-19 survivor shares ordeal – Ghana Visions


A Covid-19 survivor Maria Gwira, shared how she contracted Covid-19 in February this year.
Apart from her fear for her own life, she also spoke of the dread with which she had viewed her Mother’s coughing, thinking she had infected her.
Speaking on the AM Show, the Director of Public Affairs at the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ho said “It was particularly worrying for me because my 83-year-old mother lives with me.”
“She’s asthmatic. Actually, that whole week, she had had a really loud cough. The cough, in and of itself, was not that unusual because, like I said, she had asthma – and the air quality in Ho at this time of year is not particularly good with all the bush burning and all of that. But my first thought was, ‘O my God! I am about to kill my entire family!” she told host, Benjamin Akakpo. ....

1987 Year Group of PRESEC Old Boys Association supports Elorm's education

The 1987 Year Group of the Presbyterian Boys’ High School Old Boys Association (ODADEE) has presented a cheque for GH¢10,000 towards the financing of the education needs of Edward Elorm Gbanaglo.
The presentation was in response to an appeal Elorm made through the Daily Graphic for financial assistance to enable him pursue medical studies at the University of Health and Allied Sciences at Ho in the Volta Region.
Elorm gained admission into the university to pursue medicine, but feared he might not be able to complete the programme because he did not have a constant source of funding. ....

Eighteen-year-old Edward Elorm Gbanaglo can now focus on attaining his dream of training at the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ho in the Volta Region to become a medical doctor.
This follows the decision by the Managing Director of Abyak Pharma Ltd, Mr Thomas Mensah, to pay off the remaining five years tuition fees at the medical school for Elorm, amounting to GH¢50,000.
The amount complements an amount of GH¢2,000 he had presented earlier as his contribution towards the education of the medical student and brings his total contribution to GH¢52,000. ....

Orphan seeks financial support to complete medical school

The dream of an 18-year-old orphan of becoming a doctor in the future is being dashed for lack of finances to pursue his education at the medical school.
Edward Elorm Gbanaglo, who completed Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC) with  seven A1s and two B2s, has gained admission to the University of Health and Allied Sciences at Ho in the Volta Region but managed to pay his admission fees with the help of his late mother’s friends.
However, Elorm, who defied all odds to make the excellent grades, fears he might not be able to complete the programme because he does not have a constant source of funding. ....
