PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq has urged the Muslim rulers to devise a bold strategy to help mitigate the miseries of the Palestinians.
He was talking to reporters after distributing Eid gifts among orphan children at the Aghosh home of Al-Khidmat Foundation here the other day.
The JI chief said that Israel was involved in ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian Muslims.
“Israel has been indiscriminately killing the Muslims of Palestine,” he said, urging the Muslim rulers to break their silence over the issue and call an urgent meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He said that steps should be taken to call a meeting of the United Nations where the issue of Palestine should be taken up in an effective manner. ....

JI chief opens special unit for corona patients at Al-Khidmat Hospital

PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq inaugurated a special care unit for corona patients at the Al-Khidmat Hospital here on Thursday.
The state-of-the-art healthcare unit has been set up in the wake of alarming increase in the number of corona patients and shortage of beds in the tertiary hospitals in the provincial metropolis.
The 25-bed unit is fully equipped with latest facilities like ventilator, special patient monitoring unit, oxygen machines, well-maintained Intensive Care Unit and corona PCR laboratory. Also, a team of specialized doctors remain available round the clock to take special care of patients.
After inaugurating the facility, the JI head visited every bed to inquire after the health of the admitted patients. He presented a bouquet to every patient. ....

PESHAWAR: With coronavirus claiming 37 more lives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday, the private hospitals in Peshawar and Swat have begun providing admission, ventilator, medical oxygen, diagnosis and medicines to the people infected with the virus free of charge under the government’s Sehat Sahulat Programme (SSP).
The public sector hospitals are already offering those services to Covid-19 patients.
SSP deputy director (administration) Dr Aamir Rafiq told Dawn that free services were being offered to 78 coronavirus patients in private hospitals of Peshawar and Swat districts, which were hardest hit by the virus in the province.
He said of those hospitals, four were in Peshawar and two in Swat. ....
