India Boat and Marine Show gets under way Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA The third edition of the India Boat and Marine Show has begun on https://boatshow.exposim.io/ with the pandemic remaining unabated. Vice Admiral A.K. Chawla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, inaugurated the show while KMRL managing director Alkesh Kumar delivered the keynote address. There were special addresses by M.G. Rajamanickam, managing director of KSIDC and Mathew George, director, Inland Waterways Authority of India. The show, which features a range of stakeholders in the recreational and leisure boating market, making speed boats, engines, navigational and other systems and equipment, and other supply and service providers, will close on Thursday. ....

House panel reviews city projects Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA Members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Urban Development, headed by Chairman Jagdambika Pal, visited the city on Saturday to evaluate the progress of schemes initiated by the Union government. They visited the Integrated Command Control and Communication Centre (IC4) set up by Cochin Smart Mission Limited. The visit was after a meeting held to assess the implementation of projects under the Smart Cities Mission, and other schemes like Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The meeting was attended by officials including Kudumbashree executive director S. Harikishore, LSGD (Urban) Principal Secretary Bishwanath Sinha, District Collector S. Suhas, CSML CEO Jafar Malik, and KMRL managing director Alkesh Kumar Sharma. ....
