ALPENA A collection of 71,000 books, most of them neatly organized in boxes, will have to wait until early fall to return home to the Alpena County Library.
Much of the library’s collection, packed by professional library movers, is currently stored in carefully organized boxes in shelf order, according to Assistant Library Director Jessica Luther in a storefront in Bear Pointe Plaza on U.S.-23 South in Alpena.
There the collection will stay as renovations continue at the library building on 1st Avenue in downtown Alpena, where workers have been bustling in and out for several months. ....
