There is at least one confirmed case of COVID-19 in Carberry at Carberry Collegiate, according to Beautiful Plains School Division Supt. Jason Young.

The case was confirmed late Wednesday night, Young said by phone to The Sun on Thursday.
We’re working with Public Health. We sent a letter out to all families in the school. And any close contacts have been identified, he told The Sun.
He hadn’t been contacted by public health Wednesday night, but placed nine students into remote learning as a precaution. ....

Beautiful Plains School Division teachers are facing a retroactive salary bump after their association unanimously ratified a new two-year collective agreement on Thursday, which could also pave the way for similar negotiations in the province.

Beautiful Plains School Division teachers are facing a retroactive salary bump after their association unanimously ratified a new two-year collective agreement on Thursday, which could also pave the way for similar negotiations in the province.
The retroactive salary on the two-year agreement, that expired on June 30, 2020, includes a 1.6 per cent salary increase for the 2018-19 year and a 1.4 per cent increase for the 2019-20 year, according to Beautiful Plains School Division superintendent Jason Young. ....

It may seem relatively calm and mild in Winnipeg, but many other parts of Manitoba woke up to winter weather warnings that forced some schools and highways to close.
