Russell Paul Lautanen was arrested on Thursday, after a secret indictment was filed in his case earlier this month, according to a press release from Ashtabula County Prosecutor Cecilia Cooper.
Lautanen, 49, of Jefferson, was indicted on 15 counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, all second-degree felonies, on Dec. 1, according to court records.
Lautanen is accused of possessing and creating child pornography, according to the statement. Digital files were located in what is believed to be Lautanen s possession in March of 2019, according to the statement.
The charges stem from an investigation by the Ashtabula County Sheriff s Department and the FBI. Cooper thanked both agencies. ....
