Specialty steel manufacturer Arjas Steel in partnership with the Anantapur District Administration, has set up a 500 bed Covid Care Hospital at Tadipatri in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.
Arjas Steel has laid an oxygen pipeline directly from the steel plant to the 500-bedded Covid care hospital, ensuring an uninterrupted oxygen supply.
This joint initiative has addressed the critical need for oxygen in the hospital and simultaneously reduced the burden on the already scarce resources of oxygen cylinders and tankers deployed to other areas in the state.
The company, as part of its production process, has an oxygen plant of Industrial grade. This is transformed for medical use under Andhra Pradesh Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APMSIDC).

Ensure oxygen storage points are near hospitals: Collector

‘Prepare plans for setting up of plants at various areas’
District Collector V. Vinay Chand has directed the official concerned to ensure that the oxygen storage points are near the hospitals.
The Collector reviewed the oxygen supply issues, COVID-19 admissions and conduct of tests at a review meeting through teleconference from the Collectorate on Tuesday.
He directed the General Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC) Ramalinga Raju to ensure that the storage points were close to the hospitals.
He said that the Central government has sought proposals for the setting up of oxygen plants and directed the Andhra Pradesh Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APMSIDC) Executive Engineer D.A. Naidu to prepare the proposals for setting up of oxygen plants near the CSR Block of KGH, VIMS, Chest Hospital, Anakapalle Area Hospital and at Narsipatnam, Araku, Paderu and at Gayatri, GITAM and NRI Medical Colleges.

District Collector V. Vinay Chand has directed the officials to provide better services to COVID-19 patients.
At a review meeting with officials at the Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) here on Saturday, he enquired about the services being rendered by doctors, nurses and other staff at the hospital. He directed that a roster should be prepared to ensure that the staff work in three shifts. Doctors and other staff should be available to the patients in all wards, he added.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reiterated that vaccination is the solution to prevent COVID and directed the officials to ensure vaccine supply meets the State needs and carry out the vaccination drive vigorously with a target of providing four lakh doses in rural areas and two lakh doses in urban areas on a daily basis.
During a review meeting on Covid Vaccination-control measures, Nadu-Nedu in the Health Department, the Chief Minister said that all those who are aged above 45 years have to be vaccinated in the next 30 days and directed the authorities to take up the vaccination drives in rural areas too. In regard to this, the officials informed that only one lakh doses are available for today and the state has only enough stocks for two days and there are about one crore people aged above 45 years who still need to be vaccinated. The Chief Minister instructed the officials to talk to the central government and ensure that the required doses are made available in the State and administer smooth conduct of vaccination drive. Also, he told officials to conduct an awareness programme through Asha workers, volunteers to see that every eligible person in the house gets vaccinated.

Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials to ensure that services in Government hospitals are on par with corporate hospitals and not to compromise on Nadu-Nedu funds and complete the initiative within a specified timelines.
During the review meeting held on Nadu Nedu (Health) here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to focus on the maintenance of existing hospitals, newly constructed hospitals and teaching hospitals. If there are any issues related to land acquisition or any other regarding Nadu-Nedu works, the Chief Minister said to bring to his notice for immediate solution.
