LUMPUR: Police arrested five individuals at the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH) here last night for riding their motorcycles in a dangerous manner by doing the ‘Superman’ stunt.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief ACP Zulkefly Yahya said the five local male suspects, aged between 17 and 27, were detained between 12.30 am and 4 am today in an operation codenamed ‘Samseng Jalanan’.
He said the operation was carried out by the Kuala Lumpur JSPT Operations Intelligence Unit, led by ASP Ahmad Fuad Mahmod, and that the five were detained under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for riding in a reckless and dangerous manner.
PETALING JAYA: The postponement of toll hikes this year will be extended to 20 highways and two bridges, including the SMART Tunnel, and is expected to cost taxpayers over RM2bil.
In a statement yesterday, the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said the government would have to pay RM2.093bil to postpone hikes due this year.
This did not include obligations to pay RM160.1mil to defer hikes on toll charges for the Kesas Highway, South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) and Lebuhraya Pantai Timur 2 (LPT2), it added.
“In line with the government’s decision, consumers will continue to enjoy toll payments at a lower rate compared to the toll rates under the concession agreements.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 1 The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) will ensure that all highway concessionaires will carry out their obligations to provide the best quality of service in the interest of road users.
LLM director-general Datuk Mohd Shuhaimi Hassan said this was following the government’s move to postpone toll hikes for three major highways in the country.
PETALING JAYA: The postponement of toll hikes this year will extend to 20 highways and two bridges - including the SMART Tunnel - and will cost the government over RM2bil, says the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA).
In a statement issued on Saturday (May 1), the MHA said the government would have to pay RM2.093bil to postpone hikes in toll charges this year. In line with the government s decision, consumers will continue to enjoy toll payments at a lower rate compared to the toll rates under the concession agreements. Consumers will also continue to enjoy quality facilities and services along the highways, the MHA said.
