On Tuesday night it looked like homes in two small settlements near Lancelin, about 140 kilometres north of Perth, would be overrun by a massive bushfire burning for four days already.
But thanks to the efforts of about 200 firefighters, those houses are still standing.
Homes in the Ocean Farm Estate were under imminent treat of the fire.

About 200 volunteer and career firefighters worked around the clock to stop the fire front as air tankers dropped several thousand litres worth of retardant on the southern flank of the blaze, which had razed 9400 hectares of bushland. ....
