Hundreds of students and staff from a Central Coast school and Hunter region schools  have been forced into isolation after multiple children and teenagers tested positive to COVID-19 overnight.

Hundreds of students, parents and staff from a Central Coast School are on alert after two children tested positive to COVID-19.
NSW Health advised NSW Department of Education late Wednesday night that students from Lake Munmorah Public School will need to isolate until further notice.
Principal Narelle Baldwin notified families through the school s official Facebook page. ....

A Sydney man in his 20s and a woman in her 80s passed away from COVID-19 overnight, reinforcing how lethal the Delta variant of COVID-19 is.
The south-west Sydney man died at his home on Tuesday after his health suddenly deteriorated .
Unfortunately the gentleman wasn t vaccinated, hadn t had any dose of the vaccine, Ms Berejiklian said. As we understand, the death happened quite suddenly. ....

The outbreak in New South Wales seems far from over after Premier Gladys Berejiklian warned Greater Sydney residents case numbers have not reached its peak .
She was quizzed by reporters on why infection numbers remained consistently high despite being in lockdown for the last six weeks.
We know from the Delta strain overseas jurisdictions the size of New South Wales that started off with the same number of cases we did are now having daily rates in their thousands, she said during the daily press conference. ....
