Minister of Health, Senator Mary Issac has heaped a mountain of praise onto the Saint Lucian public amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a letter from the Minister’s office, she was quoted saying, “I want to say “Thank You” to the citizens of Saint Lucia as we continue to manage the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the last few weeks, we have seen a steady decline in our number of new COVID-19 cases, since the upsurge we saw in January and February.”

The minister attributed this decline to support of the citizenry to the efforts of the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Government of Saint Lucia, by observing the protocols – washing hands, wearing masks and social distancing. ....

The Owen King EU Hospital and the Respiratory Hospital (Victoria Hospital) recently held appreciation ceremonies to celebrate the hard work done by the staff during the year since the transition.

Minister for Health and Wellness Sen. Hon. Mary Isaac recounts the emotional day last year when the Victoria Hospital transitioned into the Owen King EU Hospital.
“Doctors and nurses, firemen and women, police and all hospital workers, well-coordinated and got on the move and staying on task till the end. With the departure of each ambulance load, staff waited with bitter grief praying for a safe delivery to other hospital and return for more patients. At the end of it all, it can be written in our history that the move was well coordinated, flawless and a great success.” ....
