New Delhi [India], May 25 (ANI): Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta on Tuesday visited Dasappa Hospital where the municipal corporation s contract daily wage workers were vaccinated today.
He said that the vaccination currently is running for frontline workers as prescribed by the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
Chickpet MLA Uday B Garudachar, Rakesh Singh, the administrator of BBMP and the Chief Commissioner kick-started the vaccination drive. During this event, special commissioner (Health) Rajendra Cholan and Chief Engineer Prahalad and other officers were present, an official statement said. ....

As many as 26 physical triage centres have been set up in COVID-19 Care Centres (CCCs) and maternity hospitals across Bengaluru’s eight zones by the civic body. Another 30 will be set up over the next few days, said Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Chief Commissioner Guarav Gupta on Friday. Increase step-down beds for COVID-19 patients to 2,000: Home Minister

At present, around 1,200 beds are available in hotels
Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai held a meeting with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta, Special Commissioner (Health) Rajendra Cholan, Chief Health Officer Dr. Vijendra and zonal health officers along with representatives of PHANA to discuss setting up ‘step-down’ hospitals in hotels with the help of private hospitals.
These facilities, which will have oxygen concentrators, will cater to COVID-19 patients who may need to be shifted to hospitals. They will also cater to hospitalised patients whose condition is stable and can be discharged to facilities where they can be monitored by medical staff. ....

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 12 (ANI): Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommaihas stated that Step Down hospitals should be set up in hotels with the help of private hospitals in the state to treat COVID-19 patients.
A virtual meeting on Wednesday was chaired by Basavaraj Bommai along with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta to discuss the setting up of step down hospitals in hotels in the state amid the rising COVID-19 cases and subsequently increasing demand for hospital beds.
Step down facility will be used to monitor patients who are discharged from hospitals and are in stable condition. ....
